Jim Razor kicked some serious arse in this meet. Jim Squatted
a PR 374.5, Benchpressed a PR 275.5, and Deadlifted 352.5,

An Impromtu Fund Raiser Meet
Brian Campbell jumped in unexpectadly. Brian had not trained
hard in a month and a half. Brian weighed in at 172 pounds. Brian
Deadlifted 545 pounds, Benchpressed 350 pounds, and Squatted 535 pounds

Ant (Anthony LaMarca) hit his best total ever. Ant hit

whopping PR total of 1290! This was a 180 pound improvement since
August 2!!! WAY TO GO ANT!
November 8 AAU American Invitational Powerlifting Championships
Cheryl Anderson, the petite powerlifter, had a full day of PRs.
Cheryl weighed in at 95.1 pounds. She Squatted a PR 231.5 pounds,

June 22 APA Connecticut Open Bench Press & Deadlift Championships
My favorite lady, and WTU sweetheart, Dian Newell entered her
first meet today. Dian got Washington State Records in both lifts. Dian
Benchpressed 105 pounds and narrowly missed 120. Dian set a bigtime PR
in the deadlift with a strong 230 pound pull. SUPERB JOB Dian!
Craig Schmalz upped his World Record benchpress with a big 525 pound benchpress in the 181 pound division. Craig you are one AWESOME bencher!
Mike Anderson also made his debut with a 300 pound Benchpress and a 500 pound Deadlift for 4th place in the Juniors.
Oscar was another first timer with a GREAT performance. Oscar went 295 in the Benchpress and 430 in the Deadlift in the 181s. Nice work Oscar and we look for a great future for you.
June 14 USPF California State Championships
Jim Razor's family had some pressing buisiness here. Jim's wife
Amy Razor went 242 1/2 pounds in the Squat, 154 pounds in the Benchpress,
and 253 1/2 pounds in the Deadlift for a grand total of 650 pounds. This
was Amy's first meet. She lifted in the 181 Masters 45-49 class. NICE GOING
AMY! We will be looking for big things from you in the future!
Jim's son Eric Graves also made a nice showing. Eric did a PR
413 1/2 pound Squat, a PR 231 1/2 pound benchpress, and a PR 446 1/2 pound
deadlift for a PR total of 1091 1/2 pounds!!!

May 4 SLP South East Iowa Open
Noble (Cozy) Cozine went 465 pounds followed by an out of competition
4th attempt of 485 pounds for an SLP State Record in the benchpress. Cozy
lifted as a light 275 weighing in at 264 pounds. Nice Lifting Coze!
May 3 APA Southeastern States Open
Eric Knight showed us how benchpressing is done. Eric lifted
in the 148 pound division. He opened with 372 pounds. Easy lift, went 382
for a second then 387 for a third. All good lifts. From there Eric did
a 4th attempt with 402 pounds. GOOD LIFT!!!! A big congratulations
to Eric Knight for his WORLD CLASS benchpress!
John Demchak had a good day with a 392 lb benchpress and a state record 612 lb deadlift. NICE LIFTING John!
April 13 WPA Championships
Wade Johnson Just missed that 2000 mark with a 770 Squat,
570 benchpress, and 630 deadlift for a HUGE 1970 total. Wade appeared to
have plenty left in the tank and there is no doubt in my mind 2000 is there
for him. CONGRATULATIONS WADE!!

Al Baehr Just keeps getting more and more awesome. Al lifted
in the 242s and squatted 661 pounds, benchpressed 424 pounds and deadlifted
688.7 pounds (narrowly missing 716), for a GRAND TOTAL of 1773!!! Nice

March 22 APF Battle of the Baddest
Howard Gutnick had a good day of PRs. Howard got a 25lb competition
PR squat with a strong 435lbs, a 5lb full meet PR 315lb benchpress, a PR
and National Record 535lb deadlift for a GRAND TOTAL of 1285 as a 181 pound
55-59 master lifter. WAY TO GO HOWARD!!!!

affectionately known as the BS meet
This one will take a while to type. This meet was a regular who's who
of WTU. No WONDER it was nicknamed the BS meet :)
Brandon Cass won the Best Lifter awards in Powerlifting and
in the Deadlift competition. Brandon got a 800 pound squat, a 520 pound
benchpress, and a 770 pound deadlift for a grand total of 2090 pounds!
AND all at a bodyweight of 226! AMAZING.
Cheryl Anderson was another Best Lifter in the Women's 97 Open
Powerlifting. Cheryl weighed in at 93 pounds and squatted 200 pounds, benchpressed
130 pounds, and deadlifted 235 pounds for a total of 565 pounds! Thats
5 1/2 times her bodyweight! SUPERB Job Cheryl!
Rodney Wood showed us all the proper way to lift with hams to
calves squats. Rodney squatted a triple bodyweight 615 pounds, benchpressed
an over double bodyweight 465 pounds, and deadlifted 540 pounds for a grand
total of 1620 pounds! VERY IMPRESSIVE LIFTING Rodney!
Al Baehr got off to a bad start falling backwards with 580 pounds
in the squat. Fortunately our spotters caught the bar and saved the day.
Al did go on to total 1780 pounds via a 650 squat (looked too easy), a
430 pound benchpress, and a 700 pound deadlift. SUPER lifting Al. You are
truly an amazing lifter and a terrific human being.
Ken Ufford our Kansas City Cop was a real crowd pleaser as well
as an unbelievably strong lifter. Ken squatted 715 pounds with ease, benchpressed
560 pounds like it was nothing, and handled a 760 pound deadlift like a
warmup weight. It was very entertaining to watch Ken "talk to the bar"
as he went up to lift. Ken was our other one ton plus totaller with his
2035! KEN YOU ARE TRULY AND ELITE LIFTER AND A CLASS ACT!
March 8 APF Maryland Championships
Dan Long shined in his first ever powerlifting meet with a 500
pound Squat, 300 pound benchpress with a 335 pound 4th attempt, and a 535
pound deadlift for a grand total of 1370! Congratulations Dan and a nice
first meet!
Amy Vaughan once again upped her awesomeness up another notch
or two with a 506.5 pound squat (yeah you read it right), a 267 pound benchpress
before a very unfortunate injury with 287 pounds. As a result of this injury
she took a token deadlift to stay in the meet. Amy as always you did well
and amazed me to no end. The injury will be temporary and you will go on
making history after it heals.
March 1 APA Teenage Nat's/Tristate Open
Brian Propst did really well in his second meet ever. Brian
scored lifts of 425 Squat (PR), 330 Bench (PR) and a 450 Deadlift for a
PR total of 1205. WAY TO GO BRIAN!!!!

Eric Knight did us proud with a 360 pound benchpress in the
148lb division. Nice Lifting Eric!
In the USAPL Virginia Open meet Steve Horton took first place with a 535lb squat, 365lb benchpress, and a 550lb deadlift for a total of 1450 in the 220lb division. Good job Steve!!!
WNPF PA State Championship
Sam (energizer) Ross had a bit of an off day but still shined
with a 365 Squat missing both 415 and 420 on technicallities, a 365 lb
benchpress, and a 385 deadlift missing 410 on another technicallity. We
are all proud of you Sam!
March 1 LHSPLA State Meet
Bullet made us all proud with a 460lb squat, 295lb benchpress,
and a 545lb deadlift for a whopping 1300 total at a bodyweight of 233.8lbs.
Bullet got 9th place over all and 5th in 4A as a Junior lifter. Nice lifting

Febuary 28 USPF/AAU Oklahoma State Meet
Brandon Cass lifted as a guest lifter and pulled an easy 770
deadlift. Brandon JUST MISSED 800 twice and left a number of records in
his wake. NICE PULLING BRANDON!
Febuary 15 AAPF Gulf Coast Open
Greg Godwin Squatted 369lbs, Benchpressed 231lbs, and Deadlifted
424 for a cool 1014 Total. Greg just keeps on getting better and better.
He is another master lifter who is proving that life does indeed begin
at 40! Congratulations GREG!
January 25 Push/Pull Meet
John Demchak benchpressed 410 narrowly missing a 425 then went
on to pull 610lbs in the deadlift. NICE WORK JOHN!!!
January 25 Iron Boy Meet
Art Fisher put up a nice 475lb Benchpress! Art in on his way to a big
500 real soon! Congratulations Art!
January 25 WNPF Meet
Sam Ross (energizer) Kicked some serious Butt in his first meet!
Sam lifted in the 242 Novice RAW division. Sam Squatted 405lbs for a *20lb
PR*, benchpressed 350 for a WNPF Novice Class Record, Deadlifted 405lbs
for a *30lb PR*, leaving him with a grand total of 1160lbs. FANTASTIC DEBUT
Sam!!!!
Jeff Sanderson wiped the cobwebs off after a 15 year hietus
from the platform. Jeff Squatted a well below capability 450lbs, Benchpressed
320lbs, Deadlifted 430, for a cool comeback total of 1200lbs!

January 4 APA East Coast Open
Howard Gutnick had a great day with a 290lb benchpress and a
530lb PR deadlift in the 181 weight division masters 50-59 catagorie.
And Tom Lewis Benchpressed a WPA World Record 435lbs in the
181 masters 45-49 catagorie. SUPER LIFTING from both of you!
