I had a young lifter ask me about how to loose weight and keep your strength up. I gave him several pointers on where to start before going into a strict low carb diet. I will start with this plan for 6 to 8 weeks and then drop my carbs more if necessary. Anybody got anything they would like to ad to this list.

Looking back at my preparation for Nationals I can honestly say my diet suckedddddd. A lifters diet does affect there performance or it does for me.

Here at some big keys to start your diet of in the right direction before you start dropping the carbs too low.

1. as I said 4 to 6 small meals a day
2. no refined sugar
3. drink two liters of water a day
4. no fast food
5. eat your meals at home and try and eat things that are fresh not stuff out of boxes, cans, vacum sealed in plastic or precooked. Basically if it goes in a microwave stay away.
6. 200 grams of protien a day
7. Carbs at about 120 grams between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM
8. Carbs that are whole grain or dark grains, not the white stuff
9. Disclipne into what you allow your self to take in
