Ankle Dragging
Isolating Various Muscle Groups

Here is a picture of a sled that a local welder made. A "sled" can just be loose plates dragged if one doesn't mind tearing up their lawn. An old tire with a piece of wood inside, so that plates can be added, also makes a good sled. The sled in the photo has the strap attachment for belt dragging on it.

Sled dragging with the sled behind you while walking forward works your "posterior chain", the glues, hamstrings, calves, the muscles on the back of your body. Try to walk upright with very little lean. Sled dragging with the sled in front of you while walking backwards works your quads and hip flexors. Again, try to walk upright with very little lean.

Bent over dragging works the hamstrings and glutes
hard.  Walk forward while holding the sled strap below
knee level.
